This year, STGCC held its first Cosplay Runway to give ardent cosplayers a chance to shine on stage. The event saw more than 50 local and regional cosplayers bringing alive pop culture characters from the East and West, including lead characters from "Star Wars" and video game titles such as "Final Fantasy".
Let us start off with the cosplay panel held on day 1 with our Japanese guests, Kousaka Yun, Touya Hibiki, and Tadaaki "Jacky" Dosai(from Cosmode).
The fifth Singapore Toy, Game and Comic Convention (STGCC) 2012, which was held over the weekend (1-2 September), ended on a high note this year as it sets a new record attendance, bringing together close to 35,000 local and regional visitors.
This year’s STGCC is the largest edition to date, playing host to close to 160 local and international participating exhibitors, with famous brands such as Hot Toys, Diamond Comics and Namco Bandai. Over 100 STGCC exclusives and new products were released this year, which were snapped up by excited toy fans.
What also attracted fans of Western comics, toys and games and Eastern anime, manga, games and cosplay was the opportunity to meet the 35 top-notch pop culture personalities who attended this year’s STGCC. Comic fans were delighted to get their comic books autographed by renowned comic writers and illustrators, while Japanese pop culture fans were able to strike poses and take pictures with top cosplayers Touya Hibiki and Kousaka Yun. On the morning of 31st August 2012, the media was invited by Reed Exhibitions to attend the Media Preview for the Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention 2012 (STGCC).

A short session with Andy Diggie ( leading comic book writer, from UK), Tristan Eaton (famous graffiti artist, illustrator and toy designer, from USA), and Leinil Yu (top Marvel Comicsand DC Comics Asian illustrator, from Philippines) was held, followed by a display of "Live sketching" by Tristan and Leinil, penning of caption by Andy, giving the media a display of their talents. Their completed artwork will be on display at their respective booths during Saturday and Sunday.

At the preview, we were also given the chance to look at some of the popular items that will be at the convention!
This year, STGCC invited Touya Hibiki and Kousaka Yun, both are top Japanese cosplayers, to grace the event.

The media preview ended with the group interviews of the guests and the Project Director. Stay tune for Kippei's Youtube update on the group interview with the Hibiki and Yun.

A media conference was held yesterday at AKB Official Cafe Singapore by Anime Festival Asia 2011 Festival Directors; Mr Shawn Chin and Mr Haruhiko Miyano.
Media were presented by AFA's regional plans, Cool Japan Forum and Festival Highlights that supporters are to expect this year.
Mr Chin revealed that Anime Festival Asia will be truely going Asia as there will be 2 events of AFA next year in Malaysia and Indonesia,
while AFA will continue to be held in Singapore annually! More details will be reveal at AFA11 event itself!
Mr Miyano revealed the first guest speaker confirmed for this year's Cool Japan Forum; Mr Hirano Keiichiro 平野啓一郎, Reowned Novelist and Akutagawa Prize Winner.
