Anime Festival Asia 2009 brings Danny Choo to Singapore

(Singapore, November 19th, 2009) – The organisers of Anime Festival Asia 2009 (AFA09) are proud to announce the arrival of Danny Choo in Singapore, ahead of the actual event! In conjunction with AFA, here are some of the very special highlights!
Tokyo Dance Trooper in Singapore
Shot in places such as the fashionable streets of Shibuya to the otaku mecca that is Akihabara and done guerrilla style, Danny has been grooving to various tunes from his Sony Rollie and encouraging passers-by to join him. His various videos have also been featured on the official Star Wars blog and viewed a total of two million times!
Danny will be shooting a special version in various locales the best represents Singapore. From the hustle and bustle of the lunchtime crowd of Raffles Place to the bright lights of the lights of the Orchard Road Christmas light ups, can you guess what other iconic locations will be featured? Find out by catching the world premiere of the video during Danny’s stage segment in AFA09!

Tokyo Figure Show in Singapore
Held in Shibuya in August, the Tokyo Figure Show featured the very latest and best anime-related figures and merchandise from the Good Smile Company family and hosted by Danny. He also unveiled the prototype Figma of his company’s mascot, Mirai-chan, there!
At AFA09, Danny will be bringing this show outside of Japan for the very first time. Be sure to check out the range of figures that GSC would be bringing here to Singapore for display for the very first time! Who knows? You may get to see something very special!
OTACOOL at AFA
In conjunction with Kotobukiya, Danny recently published a book on various otaku rooms from all over the world, from his office in Meguro to Alodia Gosiengfiao own humble room in the Philippines.
Limited copies of the Otacool book will be on sale at AFA09. Those who purchase the book at the AFA Shop (for only S$29!) during the event will get the chance to have their books autographed by both Danny and Alodia on the 22nd of November at 3.30pm at Danny’s Booth!
AFA09 will take place at Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre (Suntec Singapore) in Singapore on Saturday, 21st November and Sunday, 22nd November 2009. Children aged below 12 years old will be allowed free entry into AFA09. Animation Asia Conference 2009 (AAC09), a one-day business conference, will be held in conjunction with AFA09 and will take place on 20th November. Organised jointly by I-Promo Events & Marketing Ptd Ltd, SOZO Pte Ltd and Dentsu Singapore Pte Ltd, AFA09 is sponsored by Bandai and SANYO, with Animax as the official regional media partner.

From yesterday press conference, I got hold of the list of exhibitors

Although a bit late, as from AFA2009 facebook group. The pre-registration have opened and can be accessed from here.
There will be a few condition to fufill in order to get the pass and also the 1 day ticket sale is open. Still pondering whether I shoud get "Macross Nite" ticket or not.
New interesting details have been announced through the press conference regarding AAC09 and AFA09.

Thats not the least, there will be 12 company showcasing their IP works.
Next up is the coming details for AFA 09.
As for now, MADHOUSE studio and Tatsunoko Productions have confirmed their attendance for AFA 09, These are the some of the major animation production companies which will participate within the Industry Showcase.
Futhermore, the deadline for Regional Cosplay Championship has been extended to 12 Oct 2009 GMT + 9 due to feedback. Good news for those who have not sign up for it yet.
Cospa a leading manufacturer for anime and cosplay merchandise will be coming down to AFA 09 as well. Of course there will be promotion and special AFA exclusive merchandise that will soon to be released. later on. Bushiroad will also be hosting Singapore’s first Weiβ Schwarz Grand Prix.
Here come the interesting bits, K-ON and Hatsune Miku will be coming to AFA 09 as well!! K-ON anime has picked up in Singapore gerenally quite well and YUI is here! The voice actress of K-ON will be making a first time overseas appearance and be doing a live dubbing from a scene from the animation, in addtion to a Q & A session on the main stage. When querying about whether there will be a live concert, as of now, it unsure but the details will be worked out soon with TBS broadcasting.
Hatsune Miku with her Animelo Summer Live 2009 debut will be doing the same thing in AFA for a Special "Live" Performance.I am sure it will cause roar among Vocaloid fans. Look out for it !!

For the concert. the organisers have been listening to last year feedback. The stage and sound system have been step up and the stage area will be specially cordoned off. The public will also be able to view the concert outside the VIP area but on a first-come-first-serve basic. VIP will be in sitting arrangement. Cosplayers will be having free entry but they will be screened.
Some people may have complain about the pricing of the tickets. Considering the amount of shows and effort it will be worth it. There also a new sponsor Sanyo Electric. Thats all, more detail will be finalised upon nearing the actual event day.
