Tooling Up

Today I will introduce some tools needed for garage kits. Some are necessities and some are nice to have. Still it make life easier doing jobs when using the appropriate tools.

From the usual sandpapers, airbrush and compressor which is a must. Performance and quality play a issue as well. Hi-end airbrush are mostly likely to be very smooth and hi-end compressor are usually very quiet mostly come with a air-tank for constant pressure. Of course down here the best value are Sparmax airbrush and sparmax compressor.

 Procon PS270 and silair compressors.

Here I will show some niffy tools I have accumulated over the past few months.

The one on the right is the industrial super-glue, the one on the left is the kicker or instant-set. The small applicator tip can be made by heating a Q-tip in the middle and scratching it.

Vaseline good for release agent for epoxy and cuts.

Tamiya basic putty for basic usage.

Milliput from Xenomorph

Xacto knife. Scalpel for resins, pointed for masking tape.

Drill vise and drill for small holes and bubbles clearing.

Tamiya stainless stain stainer. Very versatile tool for almost everything.

Dremel bits for advanced modding.

Cutter. Get a cutter that cut not snap. You never know where is the snap point.

Brush set and nail brush for detail painting.

Tweeter. Got 2 types if possible. Flat head for masking tapes, taper head for parts. Chopstick underneath for pinnings for spraying.

Masking tape of different size. Files for extra material removal. Get diamond burr type to prevent rust when washing in water.

Dremel for clearing material and advanced modding as well.

Special burr for ultra fast removal of materials.

Gel stain for you know what. Make stain.

My range of paints.

My primer, gloss and matt varnish.

Power drill for pinning holes.

My supply of thinner.

Brush cleaner.

Overspray bottle.

Finally huge paper clips for pins.

There is still some tools that I forget to list. Maybe some other time.
